Faith Tabernacle WORLD Ministries is a church rooted in the Word of God, committed to the power of prayer, and devoted to serving people.
Founded in the greater Seattle area by Apostle Anne Travis-Barker, Faith Tabernacle was established with a vision to proclaim the uncompromising Gospel of Jesus Christ and to reach beyond the walls of the church to meet the needs of the community and the world.
At Faith Tabernacle, we believe the church is called to do more than gather on Sunday. We are called to worship, grow, serve, pray, and give.
Our ministry reaches people at every stage of life through worship, teaching, prayer, outreach, discipleship, youth and family ministry, community service, and missions. We believe that when people encounter Jesus Christ, their lives can be transformed, their families strengthened, and their communities changed.
Our heart is simple:
Love God. Love people. Serve the Kingdom.
For more than 40 years, Faith Tabernacle has been a place where people can find encouragement, spiritual growth, prayer, and a community of believers who believe that God still has a purpose for His people.
From Seattle to Auburn and through ministry partnerships around the world, our mission remains the same: to spread the Gospel, serve God’s people, and be a light in the community.
Our Founder
Apostle A.P. Barker
Apostle Anne Travis-Barker accepted her calling to ministry in the early 1980s and was ordained by the Full Gospel Association. She went on to establish Faith Tabernacle WORLD Ministries in the greater Seattle area, building a ministry centered on the uncompromising Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Her ministry has extended well beyond the pulpit. Throughout her years of service, Apostle Barker has been an advocate for families, children, women, and communities in need.
Her commitment to community service has included work with pregnant teenage mothers, foster families, the unhoused, and families seeking access to resources and support. In the early 1990s, she was recognized by President Clinton as one of the first inner-city AmeriCorps members and was commissioned to establish the Resource Mothers program, which provided support to pregnant teen mothers.
She later established Hand In Hand Community Development, creating programs designed to educate, equip, and provide resources to the community. Her street ministry included preparing what she affectionately called “Jesus bags,” filled with food, clothing, and necessities for people experiencing homelessness.
Her education and ministry training have included studies at the American Institute of Banking, Highline College, Seattle Central Community College, Western Washington University, Seattle University, and the Bishop A.L. Hardy Academy of Theology. She received her Doctorate of Religious Education in 2007 and earned her ThD and Christian Teaching Certificate in 2008.
Her influence has reached beyond the Pacific Northwest through ministry partnerships in Jamaica, Mexico, Senegal, and other nations.
But for Apostle Barker, all of those accomplishments point back to one thing: Jesus Christ.
As she has often expressed, salvation is her greatest gain and her greatest privilege is being allowed to serve God.

Carrying the Calling Forward
Pastor Donald Barker serves alongside his mother, Apostle Anne Travis-Barker, in the leadership of Faith Tabernacle WORLD Ministries.
His ministry represents more than the continuation of a family tradition. It is the continuation of a Kingdom calling that has been passed from one generation to the next.
As a pastor, teacher, and servant of God’s people, Pastor Donald carries a heart for the church and a commitment to the Gospel. His role reflects both the responsibility and the privilege of building upon the spiritual foundation laid by those who came before him.
Donald received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Pre-Law from Northwest University and a Masters degree in theology from Faith Theological Seminary, and was ordained in 2025. Today, he serves with Apostle Barker as Faith Tabernacle continues to grow and reach a new generation.
The work continues. The message remains. The legacy lives on.
A legacy of faith
Faith Tabernacle WORLD Ministries is part of a legacy that began long before the church was established.
Apostle Anne Travis-Barker was raised under the influence of her mother, Dr. Edna E. Travis, a pioneering woman of faith and one of Tacoma’s first Black female pastors.
Dr. Travis founded New Covenant Pentecostal Church and devoted her life to ministry and service in Tacoma’s Hilltop community. Her work extended far beyond the church. She operated a neighborhood feeding program, opened safe transitional housing, served the Tacoma Rescue Mission for more than 20 years, hosted a weekly radio program addressing issues affecting Tacoma’s Black community, and served as superintendent of the United Academy of Excellence.
Her life was marked by a simple but powerful principle: love people and serve them well.
That example shaped her daughter, Anne.
Apostle Barker witnessed firsthand what it meant for faith to become action. She saw her mother preach, serve, feed, advocate, encourage, and pour into her community. That example became part of her own calling.
Today, Apostle Barker carries that legacy through Faith Tabernacle WORLD Ministries.
And now, she is passing that same legacy to her son, Pastor Donald Barker.
This is more than a family history.
It is a spiritual inheritance.
A legacy of faith.
A legacy of service.
And by God’s grace, the story continues.
